As any dog lover and dog owner will testify to, the old phrase about man being the best friend of his dog, or the other way around, is very true. It is also a cliché but very true that when you look at some dogs, they look like they owners. Actually, the allergic reactions that your dog is getting to food, fleas, biological disturbances, are exactly the same ones that you are going to get as a human being. Your dog can have exactly the same reactions to food products as you can. For instance humans and dogs can both get allergic reactions to dairy produce. One of the problems with a dog allergy is that a lot of the times it is going to be very difficult to ascertain whether your dog is suffering from an allergy. You should be looking out for any unusual activity.

Allergies in dogs

A skin complaint is the usually the first sign that a dog has got a problem. What you will usually see in a dog allergy, it will start itching at a certain spot. Or it will start itching a lot more frequently than it was before. Flea bites can cause a particular allergic reaction in a dog that will cause it to scratch one particular area or indeed start to chew that area. Your dog is having an allergic reaction to the saliva in the wound as the flea is sucking up the blood. Any unusual activity in your dog should encourage you to make a visit to the veterinarian.

Dog allergy and the human

Not only can you be allergic to your dogs but you can become so over time. The first reaction of many pet owners with a dog allergy is that they will be better off without the dog. You can counteract the effects of a dog allergy or at least mitigate the effects to some degree by doing certain things. You can keep certain rooms in your house allergy free by keeping the dog out of them. Your bedroom should never be a place for your dog. You can get those advice from your physician or your veterinarian on some of the tactics to use.
