The Older Dog Deserves To Be A House Trained Dog
Posted Under: Uncategorized
A lot of people say you can’t teach an old dog new trick. I just don’t know where that saying came from.
Is whoever said that well known for that saying now? Anyway, training an old dog is much the same as training a new dog.
You can train it; it just might be a little more difficult because of its previous habits. Anything is possible though. Except teaching it to fly.
Flying is not possible. Dogs are not born with wings. I’m not on the subject am I? This article will have tips to train your older dog for a dog house. They can also be used for a puppy.
The house training stage for a puppy is a difficult one to go through. Since puppies aren’t aware of right and wrong, they go wherever they feel like it. Accidents can happen on your bed, carpet or anywhere in the house.
An older dog that has not been trained will behave the same way. To stop this, the best thing to do is to put them on a schedule for going outside. Start doing this every thirty minutes.
Don’t break the schedule or you’ll end up with dog pee on your favorite rug. If this does happen, and it will, use a paper towel to soak the stain.
While holding your nose, take the stained towel out and put it in a spot where the dog should go to the bathroom. Put the dog’s nose in it and let it smell it.
With this, they’ll learn that this is where they should go to the bathroom, not in the house. Keep up with your schedule.
Your dog will soon learn to alert you when it needs to go by standing near the door. Don’t wait too long to let them out or they’ll go back to going on the floor inside.
This way to train your dog is the most effective way. I hope this works to better train your dog and help your home to smell better.
I wish you luck that your dog will truly become man’s best friend.
