Training Method

In training either a puppy or dog, the best method is positive training. Rewarding a dog for good behavior is part of positive training. This is a good way for the dog to know everything is okay. Remember to train in short sessions to start. One step at a time for slow consistant progress. Dogs are like all animals, it takes time to learn something new. Three things an owner need to do about unwanted behavior; prevent it, ignore it, or teach an alternative behavior. It’s best for owners to start out teaching positive behavior over less desired ones. It’s up to the owner to correct any undesired behavior that a dog has picked up. Dogs need to be rewarded for only good behavior, never the bad.

Behavior Problems

Knowing the reason for behavior problem is the first step in fixing it. Owners are always wondering why their dog is acting this way?  Behaviors like this can range from boredom to timid ness. You can solve these behavior problems by being more aware of the reason your dog is responding to certain situations. Owners have to be patient in correcting behavioral problems. Solving behavioral problems can be challenging, but worth the effort.

Who is the Leader?

All dogs have a pack animal mentality. There can only be one leader. Owners need to be the leader in their dogs life. This way the owner will have an easier time getting his dogs attention and  getting correct responses. Building a partnership with your dogs can help solve problems later on. Using scare tactics on your dog won’t get the desired results, it’s best to have him wanting to please you.

Dogs with behavioral problems can be fixed with training. The bond between owner and dog can improve the positive training methods. Having a more responsive dog will  help solve behavior problems. Positive training  focuses on the end result. Bad behavioral problems can result from a dog not knowing his role. Obedience training helps the dog understand what expected of him.
